ABOUT THE STUDIO

Welcome to BTS Dance Corp!

We are an educational institution that provides a full program of classes in varied disciplines for all ages and levels. BTS Dance Corp. is the oldest studio in North Bay, founded in 1954 (previously named Barbara Treleaven’s School of Dance) and is now under the new direction of Miss Natasha. The students will enjoy our two bright studios with sprung floors, mirrors and barres to create a “dance” atmosphere. The studio is equipped with ample viewing and waiting areas for parents as well as change rooms, lockers, washrooms, and office. Additionally, we are attached to En L’Air Dance Boutique to make all your dance apparel needs a convenience.

In addition to our staple classes in the traditional dance styles, BTS Dance Corp also offers many novel programs.

WEE DANCE SCHOOL

A half day program for two to four year old children. This morning program will include dance, gymnastics, music appreciation, crafts, and games. A perfect way to introduce dance and the arts to the stars of tomorrow.

DANCE EXTENSIONS

A special program offering a variety of disciplines taking place during the month of June. This is an excellent chance for students to participate in a dance subject for a short term.

LET'S DANCE CAMP

Summer Day Camp for Junior & Intermediate dancers ages 4 & up held in August. This camp features “all day dance” with a variety of disciplines. In addition, BTS Dance Corp offers a week long competitive camp in August that features guest teachers for Performers & Intermediate/Senior Level Dancers.

HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Holiday spirit gives students the opportunity to perform short holiday themed dances created in their classes and perform throughout the community during the holiday season. We visit local retirement homes, malls, as well as performing in the North Bay Christmas Parade, and Downtown Walk.

PERFORMERS YOUTH DANCE COMPANY

Dancers from 7 years and up may audition in June/July if they are experienced in a variety of dance disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity for talented dancers to gain performing experience in a competitive scene. This group annually presents the "Spotlight" show which features all competitive dancers from the studio. In addition, performers participates in dance competitions throughout the North American circuit.

ADULT COMPETITIVE TEAM

A fun experience for adults who love dance and would like to try competition dance. Rehearsals are 1 hour weekly. No competitive experience required.

EXAMS

C.D.T.A. syllabus is used to train the ballet and tap students in correct technique. Exams may be taken at the end of the season if the student has reached the required level.

DANCE RECITAL

This full costume production held annually at the Capitol Centre features all students. Each year the show will take place on the last Sunday in May. Tickets are reserved seating and go on sale May 1st at the Capitol Centre Box office. Dress rehearsal and photos of all group classes take place during the week prior.

DROP IN DANCE ENRICHMENT

Technique classes for Junior, Intermediate, and Senior dancers ages 9 & up take place during July. This is a great way to stay in “dance shape” and improve technical skills during the summer break.
